Over the past couple years the dominance of the white evangelical and their power to oppress people they do not like, agree with, or simply consider animals, has been well established in law. In Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores,SCOTUS decided that congress gave corporations the right to hold discriminatory policies based on the personal superstitions of the owners. In Masterpiece Cakeshop, Ltd. v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the courts clearly ruled that a owner of a private firm may decide who to serve based on personal superstitions and beliefs.
Many say that these decisions are not discriminatory and in now way represent the white nationalists leadership of the Executive branch, the white evangelical radical religious majority of the legislative branch, or the white supremecists tendencies of the judicial branch. These policies simply represent an adjustment supremacists to policies that have come to protect the immoral minority of American at the expense of the moral majority, which happens to white and largely evangelical.
This argument has some tenuous viability up until Sarah Huckabee Sanders got her feeling hurt.
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so
To be clear, the courts and congress did not take into account what kind of person the victim of discrimination might be, or how they treat other people. The women who are being discriminated against by Hobby Lobby are not suffering because they are mean people. They are being discriminated against because they are women who want the full agency guaranteed them under the constition, not because of anything they have done.
The men who wanted to buy a wedding cake were not likely being denied service because they were rude to the owners, or because they negotiated in bad faith, they are being denied service because they are gay.
To be clear, Sanders were not denied service because she is a person who supports the notion that all Mexicans are rapists, that immigrants are animals, and that children should be kidnapped and molested for the greater good…
Oh wait, maybe she was being denied service for that.
In any case, the courts have clearly decided that it is ok, if the owners have a deep personal belief that not all Mexicans are rapists, that humans are equal and are not animals in the biblical sense, and that children deserve not be tortured, then they certainly have the right to deny service to a person who does believe in those things. Just like a corporation who believes that women should be forced to have children can deny service to women, and bakers who think that marriage is between a man and any number of women can deny services to those who think that marriage can also be between a man and a man. And such a denial only says that the owner is a decent human being, where Sanders is a person who I dearly hope was never allowed to babysit, or is ever left alone with any children, even those related.
But of course the white nationalists snowflakes think that this is another case of white oppression
Kicking someone out of your restaurant because you disagree with their politics is un-American. You should be ashamed of yourself. You are no different then people in the past who did not allow blacks into their establishments. America now knows who and what you are. Hope your business tanks!Apparently the laws of the land do not apply to privileged white people, only to women who do not know they are inferior and men who are not straight. To everyone else, the discrimination that has been codified by the SCOTUS is not in play. Apparently calling the police to remove black people sitting peacefully in your establishment is ok, but asking a devout white nationalist who may think that some of your employees are animals is not.
Much like the slaves were expected to just happily bake a cake for the criminals who hold the humans in captivity, beating them, raping them, murdering them, we are just supposed live in service to the white people who think we are simply animals here to serve them.
And, as a final note, I take it further proof of the white nationalism of the US that 56% of the reviews on the above book is 5 star. Seriously, a women who was probably being raped on a regular basis, and a child who could be stolen a sold to some stranger at any time, also to be raped on a regular basis, is worried about not having the ingredients for a birthday cake. What is she worried about, that she might be raped some more? I would believe that she might be concerned that her daughter would be killed, but who is going to kill good livestock?
