What is being billed as a win for people of color, Trump is supporting a prison reform bill. It is true that black people make up about a third of the incarcerated population, about three times the rate in the population. It is also true that incarceration means loss of voting rights and job opportunities. However, we know that everything Trump does is to help Trump.
What we also know is that Trump’s friends are going to jail. Probably Trump’s family is going to jail.
What is the more reasonable conclusion. That Trump is all of the sudden courting the black vote, or that Trump is trying to protect his friends and family from the consequences of being criminals.
