A interesting letter was published in the New York Times. It deals with the suffering on an Evangelical christian who attempts to understand the LGBT foks around him, while being persecuted for doing so. While I understand that this letter is heartfelt, it is also a wonderful example of the arrogance of too many religious people that has lead to the fight for equal rights being much more difficult than neccesary. I pen these comments not to attack or ridicule, but merely to explain to my Evangelical brothers and sisters, most of whom, according to the letter, are trying to understand why some people are so terrified of them, that many are bigots and that taking some personal responsibility is the first step to not being bigots.
